EPA Unveils Draft FY 2014 National Program Manager Guidance

EPA recently unveiled its draft FY 2014 National Program Manager Guidance.  The drafts include those for the EPA’s Offices of Air; Solid Waste and Emergency Response; Enforcement and Compliance Assurance; Water; Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention; Environmental Information; and International and Tribal Affairs.

Comments on any of these drafts are due on May 11

As described by EPA, this guidance “provide a national framework for regional, state, and tribal implementation of EPA’s FY 2014 Annual Plan and Budget and FY 2011-2015 Strategic Plan to advance the Agency’s mission.”  Regions use this guidance “to establish work plans and work-sharing strategies with states, tribes, and other partners.” 

The 5 strategic goals for EPA’s FY 2011 – 2015 Strategic Plan are:
  • Taking action on climate change and improving air quality;
  • Protecting America’s waters;
  • Cleaning up communities and advancing sustainable development;
  • Ensuring the safety of chemicals and preventing pollution; and
  • Enforcing environmental laws.
