Australia's National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme (Nicnas) has published a notice of amendments to the Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment (ICNA) regulations, arising from changes to the work, health and safety legislation. This includes amended definitions and hazard criteria, which will be included in the revised Nicnas handbook expected for release by the end of 2012.

Nicnas has also revised the forms to be used when notifying new industrial chemicals in certificate categories to coincide with the implementation of revised notification fees. These forms are now available on the website.

Both these notices are published in the July 2012 edition of the Chemical Gazette, which also includes new chemical summary reports and notice of chemicals eligible for listing on the Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances (AICS).
