The Department of Homeland Security, National Cyber Security Division (NCSD), Cyber Security Evaluation Program (CSEP), offers free cyber security products and tools that assist organizations in protecting key national cyber assets.  The Cyber Security Evaluation Tool (CSET) has been designed for easy install and use on a stand-along workstation and serves as a systematic and repeatable approach for assessing the security posture of their control and business systems and networks.  Click here for more information.

In addition to the CSET, CSEP also provides critical infrastructure the Cyber Assessment Review (CAR).  The CAR measures adoption and maturity aspects of cyber security risk management behaviors, using a common framework.  This interview based assessment ensures that core process-based capabilities exist, are measureable, and are meaningful as predictors for an organization’s ability to manage cyber risk to national, critical infrastructure.  For additional information or to learn about free technical assistance in implementing cyber programs at your company, contact Esther Langer.
