North Carolina State University will be presenting the workshop, Understanding ISO 14001, on April 8, 2008 on campus in Raleigh, NC. This one-day workshop provides you with a full understanding of the ISO 14001 standard and principles of Environmental Management Systems (EMS). An excellent lead-in to the IES workshop, ISO 14001-Internal Auditing, this workshop presents detailed information on elements of the standard, how to implement an EMS, the road to registration, common non-conformances and other topics. The full-day format of this workshop allows the instructor to present more detail than in the 1/2-day Executive Overview.

Understanding ISO 14001 will be conducted using interactive exercises (learn-by-doing technique) to facilitate a full understanding of the material. The workshop is recommended for Environmental health and safety managers and technicians, quality engineers and managers, and other personnel active in ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.

This workshop is geared to help participants thoroughly understand ISO 14001 so that they can take an active role in EMS development, internal auditing or other key roles. Some of the exercises that will be conducted include:
